Israeli Army Operation in West Bank: 10 Palestinians Killed, US House of Representatives Approves $26 Billion Aid for Israel

In a relentless onslaught by the Israeli army in the West Bank, the death toll among Palestinians has surged, with 10 more reported as martyred in recent clashes.

The latest bout of violence unfolded in the city of Tulkarm, where Israeli military raids persisted for the second consecutive day. Reports indicate that the Israeli army’s operations in the Nurshams camp resulted in the loss of 10 Palestinian lives due to gunfire on Saturday.

According to Israeli authorities, the operation spanned over 40 hours, during which 8 Palestinians were also apprehended from the vicinity of the Noor Shams camp. However, the incursion was not without casualties on the Israeli side, with 8 soldiers sustaining injuries along with a police officer.

Tragically, the violence claimed the lives of Tulkarm Brigade commander Abu Shuja Al-Jaber and his companion Amir Abu Khadija in clashes between Israeli forces and Palestinians in the Nurshams camp on Friday.

This escalation of Israeli aggression in the West Bank comes amidst an already tense atmosphere since October 7, marked by a surge in casualties. Approximately 480 Palestinians have lost their lives in attacks perpetrated by Israeli forces and settlers in the region during this period.

Meanwhile, on a parallel front, the US House of Representatives passed a significant aid package amounting to $26 billion for Israel in response to the ongoing conflict. This move is part of a larger foreign aid bill totaling $95 billion approved by the House, underscoring the enduring support for Israel within the US government.

The approval of such a substantial aid package amidst escalating violence raises questions about the dynamics of international involvement in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the ramifications for the region’s stability. As tensions continue to simmer, the toll on civilian lives and prospects for peace remain uncertain.
