In a heart-wrenching incident in Hala, the alleged harassment by the college administration drove a disabled female employee to take her own life. Khadija, a 25-year-old lab attendant at a government college in the Matiari district, ended her life by jumping into the canal, unable to bear the purported mistreatment any longer.

Khadija’s lifeless body was discovered three days ago in the Phalili canal of Hyderabad, sparking shock and grief among locals. Prior to her tragic decision, Khadija left behind a letter detailing the reasons for her extreme action.

According to police reports, Khadija hailed from a humble background and was a resident of Hala. Allegations surfaced that she had been subjected to harassment by the college administration, including being coerced into cleaning bathrooms despite her disability. The situation reportedly escalated just four days before her demise, when she was not only forced to perform such tasks but also faced humiliation.

In the aftermath of Khadija’s suicide, a letter found in her purse addressed the harassment she endured at the college, expressing her decision to leave this world to escape further suffering. The letter included contact information for her family, urging authorities to inform them in case her body was found.

Demanding justice for Khadija’s untimely death, her family members have called for action against the college staff responsible for her alleged harassment and anguish. This tragic incident sheds light on the pressing need to address workplace harassment and ensure the well-being of all employees, especially those from vulnerable backgrounds.
